Inclusion

At Repton Al Barsha, we are committed to supporting each of our students in achieving their full potential. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students can thrive, regardless of their abilities or challenges. We recognise the unique needs of each of students and work extensively with families and external providers to develop bespoke provision to navigate and overcome academic, pastoral or individual challenges. We are proud of our highly skilled and qualified Inclusion Team who work in collaboration with staff and families to provide each student with the resources they require to succeed.

Each child’s individual learning journey is supported from the start with a comprehensive assessment process to ensure appropriate support is available for all. If a child requires individual support, the Inclusion Team work in partnership with key stakeholders to guide families to high quality provision. We follow the KHDA Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework (2017) as well as adopting best practice from the United Kingdom’s SEND Code of Practice (2014).

Inclusion lies at the heart of Repton Al Barsha’s vision. We make it our mission to provide a fully inclusive environment that welcomes all children. Inclusion begins in the classroom, where all children are treated as valued members of the school community. We inspire excellence in all children, whatever their age, ability, gender or background. At Repton Al Barsha, a child’s academic, social, emotional and physical needs are fully met in every classroom through high quality teaching and a strong system of support.

Repton Achievement Base (RAB)

Support for children begins upon entry to the school, with a comprehensive assessment process to ensure appropriate support is available for all. Where children are identified as needing additional learning support, the school uses a graduated system of response to ensure all needs are individually and appropriately catered for. At Repton Al Barsha, we offer an inclusive mainstream curriculum with additional support, intervention, differentiation and personalisation, where needed.

Children of Determination

For children with an identified need or a barrier to learning, an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is created, identifying key targets that are reviewed on a termly basis. Parents play an integral role in the target setting process and are fully involved in all areas of their child’s learning.

Appropriate provision is determined on an individual needs basis. We are committed to ensuring provision is accurately matched to a child’s needs through regular review and assessment. Provision may include in class support from a Learning Support Assistant, targeted group intervention sessions or one to one intervention with a member of RAB.

More Able, Gifted and Talented

Repton Al Barsha welcomes pupils with a wide range of abilities. Each pupil is perceived to be an individual of great value. We strive to provide a secure yet challenging environment, which will stimulate the development of all pupils and enable them to maximise their potential.

Under the direction and support of our More Able, Gifted and Talented Coordinator, we meet the unique needs of the most able, gifted and talented children in our care through higher-order questioning, in class challenge and extension, extra curricular activities and external activities and competitions.
